Halloween

We started the Halloween festivities off with a fall festival at Tyler's school. Tyler, Corey, and Grace liked the games, hay ride, and bounce houses. I was afraid Grace would get tired of her costume and it was a little cold, so I put a shirt and jeans underneath. She would twirl and wave her wand. She loves dressing up! She is Tinker Bell but we had a little trouble with the wings so we just left them off. She didn't even notice.

The kids had a lot of fun digging out the pumpkin guts! Grace even enjoyed it. The design is by Pete. He decided on a cyclops, fanged tooth pumpkin with ears. He is just too talented!

I was the "Mystery Reader" for Corey's class today. I dressed up as a ghost and Corey is Johnny Appleseed. We tricked and treated in town and also visited one of the local churches. The kids made out like bandits. Tyler said he is too big to dress up anymore. He is going to a Halloween Party that he was invited to. Corey dressed as Ironman for trick or treating in town.

Deer Hunting

My deer hunters have been successful this year. We have been fortunate enough to have 2 deer so far this year. The boys love hunting! They are just wild when Pete brings in a deer! Grace thinks she is ready to hunt also.

Soccer, too!

Corey soccer season has started. He likes playing. He sees his friends. He is also trying to work in Boy Scouts and of course, he has his school work. He brought home really good grades on his 1st nine weeks progress report. We are proud of him.
Run, Corey, Run!
Corey's got the ball and going for the goal!

Corey is goalie during 1st half of game. He loves being goalie.

Football Season Is Here

The Patriots football season is in full swing! Tyler actually got playing time on this 3rd game of the season. He was on the kick-off team. He took some really hard hits by boys much bigger than him. He would jump right up afterward and be ready to play. I asked him after the game that they won 28-8, how he liked playing. He answered "It was so fun!" Corey is playing soccer so I will post some of his game pics soon.

Pete and Grace's Birthday

We celebrated Pete and Grace's birthdays on 09/07/08. Their birthdays are actually the next day but Sunday was a good day to have a party. Pete turned 35 and Grace turned 2. Grace's friend, Avery, also turned 1 on the same day. We enjoyed having everyone at the house for their party. Grace and Pete received many nice gifts. Grace loves her baby doll, coloring, reading books, and dressing up. Emily showed Grace how a true princess waves her wand over everyone. Grace and Pete thoroughly enjoyed the homemade ice cream. For the week before her birthday, if you asked Grace what she wanted for her birthday, she would say, "I creem".

Grace's First Haircut

Grace got her first haircut on 09/04/08. Ann and I took her to our stylist and had a girl's day at the beauty shop. She did really good. Only got a little antsy but I whipped out Llama, Llama, Red Pajama and all was right with the world again.

First Days of New School Year

Wow! Summer has flown by! Corey is attending Lake Oconee Academy which is our new public charter school. He is already learning the states, continents, and oceans. He is also studying spanish and poetry. He seems to be doing good for the beginning of 2nd grade. Corey will start playing soccer soon for the recreation department.

Tyler has started 6th grade at Nathaniel Greene Academy. He likes his school because a lot of his friends are going there. He is also playing JV football. He has had practice everyday of the week. NGA works on a block schedule. This block he has language arts, math, study skills, and chorus. He will be performing at different events for part of his grade. Next block he will have all new classes. I think 6th grade is going to be a challenge for him.

Summer Vacation

The boys loved the ocean! They really took to boggie boarding. That was their favorite thing.

This is the night that we went to the Magic Diner Theater. Tyler posed behind this wizard. Corey was is amazement of the magician. And Grace thought it was all just too funny.

Grace also loved the pools and water park. She was fasinated by the water dripping out of her bathing suit when she would get out of the water. (No, it was not peepee! She had a swim diaper on.) The boys enjoyed the pools and slides too.

Tyler and Corey at the Nascar Speed Park.

Grace loved the sand and hated the ocean. If we got too close, she was like a cat being put in water. She would literally crawl over my shoulder and shriek. Evan a lifeguard came to see what was happening!

We had just arrived and went straight to the ocean.

We went to Myrtle Beach at the end of July for vacation. We chose it because it was not so far to drive with an impatient, nearly 2 year old and would not require a lot of gas to get there. The hotel was really neat. It was the SeaMist. It is a large place with multiple buildings, waterpark, multiple pools, several resturants, activities for families in the evenings, and lots of extras included in the price of your room. We easily figured out a great schedule for us. We would eat breakfast in the room, go play in the pools and slides, come back eat lunch, Grace takes a nap, boys got to go exploring with either Pete or me which included a visit to Nascar Speed Park, come back to the room to get ready for dinner, and after dinner, go to the beach. For us the beach was better in the evening because it was not as hot and there were fewer people which made it easier keeping our eyes on kids. We also went to a Magic Diner Theatre at the hotel one night. The kids loved it. It totally amazed them. The whole place was very kid friendly. The pool at the water park was only about 6"-1' deep. The boys did a slide that went from one of the parking decks into the pool. They had an underground crosswalk for crossing the street. I guess the only down side was that it was not stroller friendly and the elevators were slow and crowded.

Tyler at 4-H Camp Burton Tybee Island

Tyler spent a week in June at Camp Burton, Tybee Island with 4-H. He had a really good time. They went swimming in the ocean, to the marsh for biology studies, visited River Street and shopped, and also toured Fort Pulaski.

Coming Soon....

Yes, I know it has been a while since I last posted. Sorry! I will be posting soon, though. Internet is down at the house so I am having to wait to post our vacation pics. We had a really good time at Myrtle Beach. We really needed a break. Pete will be starting his new job this week and the boys will be starting their new schools in about a week. The routines start back!

Corey and Grace at White Water

We took Corey and Grace to White Water. Tyler was still at Tybee Island at 4-H camp. (We'll post his pics when we get his film developed.) Grace loved the Little Squirts Island. She just despartely needed a NAP! Too much fun and sun for her!

Corey loved White Water! Pete and Corey did a lot more slides and stuff. The wave pool was fun but very rough. Corey had a lot of fun. On the way home, both Corey and Grace were asleep in the back seat. Everyone went to bed quite easily due to sheer exhaustion. It was a very good day!
